Police often have to deal with people who have serious mental health issues. Police training in dealing with people with people like this is becoming increasingly important.

The NSW Police Force Mental Health Intervention Team is an organisation convened to improve awareness amongst front line police of the risks involved in the interaction between police and mental health consumers.
