You are here:
At Hercules House you are always welcome. We support people living with mental illness on the path towards their own recovery journey.
Hercules House is run by One Door Mental Health. We offer a friendly and positive environment in which those with mental illness can make their own choices about the activities and facilities they use. Helping people lead a meaningful life, socialisation, life-skill development and education are all key to everything we do.
The activities on offer include healthy lifestyle programs to help you understand more about your physical health, self-development groups, cooking, life skills, excursions, support groups and a variety of creative arts.
Hercules House is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30am – 4:00pm.
Feel free to drop by for a coffee and a chat or give us a call.
Each member of Hercules House is welcome, wanted and expected to arrive each day.
We have a variety of activities and groups scheduled for this month, some favourites and some new. Our wellness groups: Relaxation and Pet Therapy; as well as cognitive skills/social integration/leisure groups: Art project, Creative Writing, Craft Club, Coffee Club, Social Club; as well as informative and interactive self-development groups: Discussion Club, Men’s/Women’s Groups, Workshops on Depression and Psychosis, Hearing Voices Group; as well as Physical Health and Life Skills: Fitness for Fun, Walking Group and Diabetes Education and Exercise Group.
We are continuing with our regular and various community outings, continuing with exploring cultural cuisine. This month we will be travelling to Fairfield to experience Spanish cuisine! A trip to the Sydney Fish Markets for lunch and, Picnic and Bushwalk at Lane Cove National Park.
Also Hercules House will be taking part in the Wellbeing and Recovery Hub’s Annual ‘Spring Fling’ Event, held on site Thursday 21st September. All services on site will be involved in providing a range of activities and groups, such as physical exercise, Yoga, relaxation, and socialisation, and a BBQ lunch. This event is an opportunity for consumers and carers to engage in the community and staff to promote the services within the Hub for consumers and carers to access. This event is free for all so spread the word!
Hercules House staff also provide a daily NDIS Help Desk where staff members offer support throughout the week to assist One Door clients with NDIS applications and packages for service delivery. We also have One Door Mental Health staff who can provide Coordination of Service for clients with NDIS packages. Please contact us if you want to discuss your NDIS needs.
