Welcome to One Door Newcastle

One Door Mental Health is the hub of mental health supports and services in the Hunter region. Available at One Door Newcastle is:

 

NDIS:

One Door is your NDIS mental health specialists in the Hunter region. We are here to help our clients transition over into the NDIS. If you already have an NDIS package you can spend your package on One Door’s range of evidence-based services and supports.

NDIS activities:
  • Co-ordination of Supports
  • Individual support work (service delivery) 
     

Carer Services:

One Door Carer Services provides people looking after those living with mental illness with individual support services, education and training to help cope with the challenges you may be experiencing.

One Door Carer Services also delivers the NSW Family & Carer Mental Health Program (FCMHP). Our Carer Advocates are available in Newcastle. A range of individually tailored support services are available either one on one or in groups.

Centre-Based Services:

One Door Newcastle also houses Centre-Based Services. Centre-Based Services are a place you can go to take part in activities to help you on your mental health journey.

Activities:

  • One-on-one support
  • NDIS support
  • Group activities
  • NDIS information sessions and Carer Education sessions
  • Physical health activities eg Tobacco Free, New Moves
  • Social outings

Individual Support

One of the key aspects of your recovery journey is the everyday support to help you lead the life you want to lead and achieve your goals. One Door Individual Support offers services that can be tailored to your needs including mentoring, support in developing relationships, goal setting, education, employment and much more. Individual Support services include Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMS), funded by Department of Social Services. 

Forensic

 

On Fire - Young Carers:

On offer are two main activities:

  • Regular fun days occur throughout the year, offering participants the chance to meet new friends in similar family situations, have fun, and have a break.
  • Two day camps are run twice a year, combining fun activities, peer support, mental health and wellbeing groups, life skills and respite.

On Fire can be accessed through referrals from schools and health services or families can self-refer. This program is funded by the Department of Social Services.

Youth Support:

 One Door Newcastle provides one-one-one and group support for young people living with mental illness.
