Hello everyone and Happy New Year,
Welcoming in 2022 brings new challenges with the increase of COVID cases across Australia. I hope that this update finds you and your loved ones safe and well as we face the new stage of this pandemic.
With the situation rapidly changing our Leadership Team is continuing to monitor, adjust our services, and keep the people we support up to date as frequently and regularly as possible.
I know that this time, as it has been for the past two years, is difficult and concerning. What I am mindful of though, is the importance of the services that One Door Mental Health provides in the community. We have a very important role to play and as essential services, we are still open and available to the people that we support.
During 2021, One Door Mental Health has been developing our Strategic Plan for the next three years. The Plan, which commenced on 1 January 2022, has been developed in consultation with our staff, the people we support, our members and subscribers, and our Consumer Consultative Committee and Carer Reference Group - alongside our Board of Directors and Leadership team. Listening to the voice of lived experience has been front and centre in the planning process and you will see that this continues in the goals we have set for the organisation.
Our Strategic Plan 2022-2024 sets out our six Strategic Priorities, focusing on the people we support, our community, and our team. It will help us to focus our energy and resources, create momentum, and allow us to be resilient and remain flexible as an organisation. Most importantly, it brings us back to our purpose – guiding our decision-making to create a thriving organisation that makes a positive difference for the people we support. I hope that the direction we have taken will resonate with you as we strive towards the future we seek - a world in which people living with mental illness are valued and treated as equals.
In 2022, I look forward to another year working alongside the people we support to build on our purpose-driven workforce and people-centred services.
