One Door Mental Health and organisers of the Australian Psychosis Conference 2018 will be holding a public forum prior to the conference. Professor Patrick Corrigan will be presenting along with Professor Cynthia Shannon-Weickert, Professor Vera Morgan and One Door’s Dr Richard Schweizer.
The Australian Psychosis Conference aims to bring together researchers, clinicians, consumers and carers, covering the latest research, discussions, best practice methods and treatment in psychotic illness.
Among this year’s speakers is Professor Patrick Corrigan, distinguished Professor of Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology and National Principle Investigator for the National Consortium for Stigma and Empowerment (NCSE). Professor Corrigan’s research examines psychiatric disability and the impact of stigma on recovery and rehabilitation. Professor Corrigan has authored and edited fifteen books, most recently, The Stigma of Disease and Disability.
