One Door Mental Health Wollongong is your mental health destination in the Illawarra.
Our staff can work with you to give you, or your loved one the best chance at accessing the NDIS.
Wollongong also has Light and Hope Clubhouse, a place you can go to meet other people with lived experience of mental illness, take part in activities and find the help you need on your mental health journey.
We are here to help our clients transition over into the NDIS. If you already have an NDIS package you can spend your package on One Door’s range of evidence-based services and supports. Our team in Wollongong offers various services and supports available through the NDIS.
Light & Hope Clubhouse offers a safe, supportive, respectful environment for people living with mental illness. It’s a place you can go to meet other people with lived experience of mental illness, take part in activities and find the help you need on your mental health journey.
From our humble beginnings in 2009 when we operated only one day per week, our membership has increased and our members are taking on more and more tasks including establishing a vegetable garden that grows some of the vegetables used in the midday meal) and expanding access to housing, educational, employment and social opportunities.
Light & Hope Clubhouse is open Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am – 3:00pm. Feel free to drop by for a coffee and a chat or give us a call.
Light & Hope Clubhouse is run by One Door Mental Health. Each member of Light & Hope Clubhouse is welcome, wanted and expected to arrive each day.

One Door Mental Health Illawarra (Committee) is a group of dynamic local leaders supporting the work of One Door in the Illawarra area.
The Committee started its life as the Light and Hope Committee in 2004 with the purpose of improving mental health services in the Wollongong area. In 2004 the Committee commenced a partnership with Schizophrenia Fellowship (now One Door) to develop new services for their community, in particular a Clubhouse. Clubhouse is a particular model of psychosocial rehabilitation for people with mental illness, which has been pioneered in Australia by One Door.
The Committee continues to advocate for a Clubhouse and is currently funding a part time Light and Hope Clubhouse in Wollongong run by One Door. Recent fundraising successes through various activities, including the Illawarra Top Model (ITC) and Corporate Luncheons have raised the profile of the organization and increased income.
The Committee is chaired by Professor Frank Deane, supported by:
Janine Cullen OAM Deputy Chair
James Hogg Secretary
Robyn Rasa Treasurer
Robyn te Velde
Judith Simons regional manager One Door
Deb Byrne area leader One Door
