A Sparkling Wine Glass

A Sparkling Wine Glass. A poem by Guenter Koerner.

A sparkling wine glass stood in the cabinet;
Susan was a healthy infant.

The glass was broken;
In childhood Susan was abused.

The glass lay shattered;
Susan became dysfunctional.

Many humans cut themselves on the fragments;
Susan hurt numerous people.

The fragments were ground into powder;
People retaliated.

Only powder remained;
Susan became a broken person.

The wind played with the powder;
Many people took advantage of Susan.

The powder was taken to a factory;
Susan consulted books, professionals and support organizations.

The powder was recycled into a glass;
God restored Susan.

The sparkling wine glass exists once more;
Susan rejoices again.
