One Door's March eNews -From the CEO

Hello All,

February 5 2020 marked my one year anniversary at One Door Mental Health. It has been a privilege to lead a great bunch of people with a passion to make a difference to those with a lived experience of mental illness. One Door continues to advocate for a better mental health system that focuses on person-centred care and recovery. We know that more needs to be done to improve NDIS and other funded services for those with complex mental health issues.

As part of this ongoing discussion, we are pleased to launch our 2020 One Door Mental Health symposium being held on Monday, 18th May at Parliament House Sydney. This year we are focusing on Purpose and Connection - putting people back into the centre of mental health services.

We welcome the Hon Bronnie Taylor, MLC, Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, who will open the Symposium and also give her reflections on the NSW Government's vision for mental health services. With the long awaited Productivity Commission's report into Mental Health Services due to the Commonwealth Government in May, Dr Stephen King will be back to give his insights. Throughout the day we will be looking at person centred care across the life space as we welcome leaders from Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA), KidsXpress, Mostly Mad Music and the NSW Mental Health Commissioner, Catherine Lourey. There are many more surprises to come, which we will reveal soon. I hope you will come and join me for a thought provoking and interactive day. Follow the link below and register.
