We record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation such as your name, your phone number, your address and your preferred time to be called in our client record computer system. Our volunteers also keep brief records of the calls we make to you so they can keep up to date.
We adhere to the Privacy Act 2007 and your information is kept confidential and secure.
We may have legal obligations to disclose information to certain people in the following circumstances:
• If our files are subpoenaed by a court of law
• Failure to disclose information would place you or another person at serious and imminent risk
• If you tell us you are going to commit a serious crime we may need to notify the police
• If we become aware that children are being physically, sexually or emotionally abused or neglected we have a duty to inform Family and Community Services
• If we are otherwise required or authorised by law
Should one of these situations arise the CEO or Deputy CEO will authorise the release of your information.
