Carer Services
Providing support and care for a person experiencing mental health distress may involve some significant challenges. It may impact a carers health, wellbeing, relationships and other meaningful aspects of their life.
Family, friends and carers often experience their own sense of recovery when provided with support and relevant services in the community.
Supporting Carers
We pride ourselves in being an inclusive community with innovative services and we offer a range of services for carers including:
- emotional and practical support
- information on coping strategies
- assistance in navigating the mental health system and NDIS
- finding additional supports in the community
- building a peer support network
- education on how to support someone experiencing mental health challenges
- advocacy support
Note: The term ‘carer’ includes biological relatives, chosen family, partners, ex-partners, friends, housemates, kinship and community members and others who play a significant role in a persons recovery. ‘Carer’ in legislative terms may also refer to a Designated Carer (DC) or Principal Care Provider (PCP).
